I am excited to be entering my 22nd year of teaching at San Pasqual Union, my home away from home. I consider teaching to be one of the world's most important and gratifying professions. I feel blessed to be at such a wonderful school with such supportive parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Ball State University and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from National University. I also earned a Master of Arts degree in Education from Western Michigan University and a subsequent Reading Specialist Credential from the state of California.
I have 22 years of teaching experience (21 at SPU) in the primary grades and as a Reading Specialist. I was twice honored as Reading Teacher of the Year by the San Diego County Office of Education.
I grew up in New Jersey and Massachusetts in a sports-oriented family (my father played for and coached in professional baseball for 23 years, primarily for the Detroit Tigers). I have been an assistant coach for both the girls and boys basketball teams here at SPU for several years.
